I’m sorry your feelings were hurt by this. Most men I know don’t keep track of international men’s day, most were not aware of it until recently (myself included,) and not a single one cares about it. I suppose we all feel appreciated. We feel like more or less that our work is rewarded, and that our partners take care of and appreciate us. We don’t feel like we need to work harder than anyone else for what we get back, we don’t feel marginalized or forgotten by society. We don’t feel like things are designed and decisions are made without our input or any thought to us- and so to us, we don’t see any need for a special holiday for men. I’m sorry you don’t have this, and if a google doodle would make you feel better about yourself or your life I hope google does that for you so that you can feel like someone appreciates and thinks of you. Best of luck.
I was not commended for the circumstances of my birth. But my family told me they are proud of me today, and a few different people thanked me for my service.
Somehow, I feel that's much more meaningful.
