Not exactly... after the incident at the Plaza, Al was put into the witness protection program along with his family, as he made himself a target for international criminal reprisal, and he didn’t exactly leave his LAPD career on track. This caused him some PTSD and tension with his family which, anyone watching could some times see in their interactions and his hair trigger temper.

What did he do besides eat doughnuts and park his car under a terrorist? Argyle was a bigger help and he just hung out in the limo all night!

I thought that at first too, but he helped stop the asshat FBI director from blowing up the building, and served as emotional support
