Both me and my babe are bi, and we've agreed that if we see someone hot then we gotta share the eye candy

Again, I'm not bi, but having a bi girlfriend would be nice. Swear a lot of girls are bi(ones that I've been with) but they never admit it. Like I have a genuine question here, why do "straight" girls follow a ton of other girls on social platforms whom they don't even know? I've never had a desire to follow girls or men that I dont personally know unless they make music that I like. Help a guy out here.

They can also be seen as someone to aspire to - the way they dress, the attitudes they have towards things, basically role models.

I need more information, why is that important? Isn't being an individual something to aspire to? Rather than being a shadow of someone else?

I think in wanting to be accepted and being popular, aspiring to be like someone else is easier (to mimic) than figuring out how to be an acceptable human being that other people will like by yourself.

That's just odd to me, but maybe I'm the odd one

No, you just have the right idea. A lot of people are insecure and thus rather attempt to be those who are confirmed or appear to be accepted and popular. It is, after all, easier to follow a recipe than it is to figure our an entire dish by yourself.
