-I have absolutely no bloody idea what the point of saying "he was a teenager at the time" is supposed to be, so I'm disregarding it as it is irrelevant.

Details of the rape case can be read here (trigger warning). It occured in 1994, the victim was 16, he took a plea deal and was convicted of attempted rape. He also has since killed a man:

I'll rate both responses partially true. As it is, what Nikki wants to do with her life is entirely up to her. I've been fortunate enough to never like her music or her as a person. Whether people choose to look into the facts and, in doing so, feel comfortable supporting her, and all that entails, is all they can control
I’m not for rape or pedophilia- I applaud your fact finding, and find your conclusions to be reasonable. I do want to respectfully make some observations from a different perspective on some of the points you raise though. To the first- love and friendship can be quite complex. You can dislike a persons action or even them while still loving or having compassion for them. With 6789 or whatever- He did a terrible thing. A thing I consider one of the worst you can do. But it’s not a balancing act. Whatever the reason or how well deserved, it sucks to be arrested. Sucks for you, especially sucks for your family and loved ones who may have nothing to do with any of it but are still effected- they may we’ll be ashamed or even disgusted by you- that itself is a type of pain to feel about someone you love(d), and wether they die, move away, or go to jail to you the result is still a loss of a loved one. So I think condolences are fair- although it’s tacky at the very least to publicly....
... express such when there is a victims and their families are going through pain, especially if you do not also extend such support to them. But it is not the family or friends fault when an associate makes a choice, and they also suffer too. So there is an argument that as a society we tend to forget there are more victims to a crime than just the ones represented by a public prosecutor. It’s also important to note that an arrest is not a conviction. Despite any overwhelming evidence, Justice isn’t done when a verdict is passed before a trial decision is made. Until then a person is innocent unless they admit guilt, and in every practical way should be considered innocent unless one has first hand knowledge they are guilty....
.... the “he was a teenager at the time...” well... rape is rape. 7,17,700. It’s a horrible crime and the results are the same regardless of your age when you do it. That said- He was about 16 when it happened. Not even legally an adult, not fully physically or mentally developed. Age doesn’t excuse or mitigate the act, but just the same I’d likely judge a 40 year old a lot harsher for most things than I would a high schooler. Secondly- he’s almost twice the age now as he was then. He can’t erase what he did, but most people do a lot of changing between 16 and 40. Is he “totally different” or “a new man”? Who knows. Lots of questions about that. How long and what can we hold against a person? Even if he dedicated his life to charity since then (he hasn’t), it wouldn’t take it back. But as you say- her justifications are her own. I do have to extend some sympathy to her though. She may not “know” the guy who did that, but is still judged for dating a rapist.
-The bail-out news is not, in fact, fake, but it was not Minaj who bailed him out-- it was the mother. The 11/12 year old in question was his step-daughter.
