Cheaper food, cleaner theaters, more volume control. However, I love going to movies and I'm very easy to convince. I don't even care what movie we see! If I get yummy popcorn and some chocolate and my friends, I can just lie back with my head on their shoulder and chill tf out

I actually don't mind the prices at movie theaters. Helps keep them afloat

Especially since they compete with sites like Netflix, Hulu, and even piracy.

Theaters dont make any money off the ticket sales. Those go to whichever movie they watched. That's why the drinks and snacks are so expensive because it's the only way for the theater to survive

Actually, for most major releases, they get around a 45% cut domestically for the first 3 weeks, then it slowly goes down. This is how dollar theaters stay in business; they're the ones that give all their profit from tickets back to the production companies. Overseas it's usually around 55% instead of 45%. On average, for a major movie to make a profit, it needs to make roughly twice it's production + advertising budget, or 3.5x it's production budget worldwide. Anomalies occur, like SOLO, which had a massive production budget because of re-shoots, but a minimalist advertising budget comparatively; or BvS, which had a reasonable production budget for what it was, but a ridiculously expensive marketing budget.

with netflix and such i can sit at home drink, smoke, pause to go to bathroom and don't have to deal with morons on their cell or yelling at the screen. Also don't have to drive there and back. why the hell would i ever go to a theater again? i think the theater is going the way of the drive in and nothing can be done.

I like going to the theater in the middle of the week, like on a Wednesday or Thursday, at like... noon. There's practically nobody there, at that point the 3D and giant screen makes it worth it. The best ones are when you're literally the only person in the theater; it's like a private screening... Oh... also I blaze in the car first and just walk in with a spiked Gatorade or two. \<_</

Less people crunching popcorn with their mouths open like hogs at a trough. So loud. :/
