I'm going to look into it more-- take everything I say with a grain of salt because I'm still researching--but the first thing I found seemed to indicate that some of the proof revolved around one of the women who accused Vic Mignogna ALSO accusing Todd Haberkorn of sexually assaulting her. For anyone who doesn't know, Haberkorn is ALSO an anime voice actor.
'
She listed Todd as having assaulted her without actually giving his name in a public post, but later revealed it to people in private messages, which later got back to Todd.
'
The whole incident seems to be explained here:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.oneangrygamer.net/2019/02/soul-eaters-todd-haberkorn-rebuts-sexual-assault-claims-from-jessie-pridemore/76163/amp/
This is a VERY long article, mind you, and I didn't read every single bit of it, but my understanding is they pretty much had a long standing casual-sex relationship that she worked very hard to continue despite him saying he had no real interest in a committed relationship.
'
This is the woman's original accusation, which includes claiming Vic Mignogna tugged her hair, repeatedly, in front of several witnesses:
https://m.facebook.com/jessie.pridemore/posts/10156852278447159
'
It should be noted that, when asked for a comment, she proceeded to block the person inquiring, which they mention in this article:
https://thedaoofdragonball.com/blog/news/fixing-the-staircase-vic-mignogna-sexual-assault-allegations/
"This podcast was recorded before more revelations came to light, which we would like to address briefly here. First, now that her story has been proven false, we feel confident in naming Jessie Pridemore as the accuser mentioned in the podcast. Voice Actor Todd Haberkorn came forward as the one she implied had raped her, and provided evidence showing the sexual encounter was consensual, and that Pridemore has held a bizarre fixation on Vic Mignogna, gleefully admitting to harassing him and his girlfriend at the time. Our initial guess as to who it might have been was incorrect, primarily because of Pridemore's insinuation that this person held too much power and influence, and outing him might cost her her career. I believe we can safely say Haberkorn does not fit this description, but we were unaware of just how much Pridemore was lying at the time of recording."
(This is continued on the linked page)
Listening to the podcast-- I've never listened to a podcast by this group before. I will warn that there is vulgarity (not constant but some of the language would be very offensive to people), they do seem to make a bit light of victims of sexual assault. So heads up to anyone planning to listen to it.
So far, about a quarter way into the podcast their main points have been:
-the "rumours" about Vic have existed for years, but they've never been about anything consisive. There were just a few people mumbling about how Vic was "generic bad." They didn't know why he was bad, they just had decided he was. None of these rumours were sexual.
'
-Recently (I'm relying on the podcast entirely, I don't know who this person is) a man in the anime industry named Hazukari, who they say is very connected, very influential, etc etc, has been accused/possibly caught grooming and engaging in sexual misconduct with underage boys. Almost immediately, according to the podcast, the rumours about Vic began to skyrocket. Basically their point is that Vic is being the fall-guy. They're using him and circulating rumours about him to distract from this other man who has apparently been in the industry for years, engaging in this behaviour for years, and no one did anything about it.
-The other people talking about him are either people saying "I knew about his disgusting behaviour for YEARS!" But never saw fit to actually SAY anything about Vic being a paedophile until now, when it gets them the most attention.
'
-There is no conclusive narrative NOW. No one seems to be able to point the finger and definitively say "Vic was molesting little girls." "Vic was abusive." "Vic groomed these girls." Basically there's no pattern of behaviour that's been established, and the accusations change from place to place and are very hazy.
-The other Voice Actors/etc suddenly accusing him are all pretty much d-list nobody's, trying to get attention.
'
This part is a bit longer, and speaks more about Motive for acting against Vic:
'
They mention is someone named MarzGurl, who they say has been insanely vocal about Vic now that this whole thing has exploded... and yet, SOMEHOW, while working at a place called ChannelAwesome there was a fellow there called "JewWario" (apologies if spelling is incorrect).
'
his guy was confirmed as a sexual predator. According to them he had a fanclub of underage girls whom he was grooming and he may have "raped one or two of them." And everybody at ChannelAwesome knew about it. MarzGurl completely denies ever having any knowledge about it, despite this apparently being impossible because they all worked very close with JewWario. Regardless of whether she knew, she also went on to make a tribute for JewWario after he died, which I assume happened after it came out he was a paedophile.
Yet despite apparently having no issue with JewWario, she has spent days lashing out at Vic and attacking his fanclub-- including trying to send her fans after Vic, as well as attacking his mother, who apparently is the leader of Vic's fanclub. She apparently also is running around gathering pictures of him hugging fans-- the fans of which DID NOT consent to her using to make her argument.
'
The fans also then respond by informing her that, not only were they completely okay with Vic hugging them and had consented to it, a lot of them had parents right off screen supervising the whole thing. To which MarzGurl informs them they don't know any better than to let Vic... hug them I guess.
'
They go on to make some irrelevant comments about her appearance and some other things
To make it even better-- apparently MarzGirl's fans have gone on to claim it's THEM in the pictures-- not Vic's fans, and that they never consented to it. Which Vic's fans have proven it IS, in fact, THEIR photo, that these girls have stolen their photos and changed the story behind them.
'
On top of which, the MarzGurl fans are taking clips of him reciting lines from animes such as Ouran High School Host club.
'
(this part is me, exclusively, not the podcast: OHSCH is an anime where basically high-school gigolos make money by flirting with girls who come visit them for tea during breaks at school, for anyone who doesn't know. There's various other shenanigans, but that's what it is at it's heart. Vic voices one of these guys. Before anyone starts saying that's evidence he wants to flirt with teen girls, pretty much every other Voice Actor in the series is well over the age of 18)
The people who took the videos of him reciting these lines then speak up and say:
First of all: the girl he's talking to isn't underage.
Second off: that's NOT you.
Third off: it's in a ROOM full of people, (including security and adults-- because that's how cons works)
And fourth off: the fan ASKED him to say the line.
(the above posts have been edited to correct the spelling of MarzGirl's name, which I now have to do it again because it's spelled with a u, not an I because why the fuck not)
'
They also point out there's absolutely no actual footage so far of anything that's been offered up. Which they say is VERY odd, because his fans pretty much stalk him. Which they do. They pretty much always are recording him, and there's pretty much never been a recorded incident of him acting inappropriately. There's barely been any incidents of him being SHORT with someone.
'
'
'
'
So, again, this is all just me trying to sum up THEIR points. I'm only about a third of the way through the podcast now. I haven't had a time to verify the content about Mars girl or the others. I may do that later. Right now I need a break. Sorry for spamming
Update: funimation has now cut ties with him.
Now I'm FUCKING LIVID
Even though hes innocent, his name is forever smeared because of the false accusations.
These bitches need to be arrested and hanged.
Or beheaded. I'm down for a hanging then beheading
As a side note, a quick look into MarzGurl's twitter (assuming I'm using the damn site correctly) shows literally almost every single post recently is entirely about Vic. None of the other accused. I saw no mention of Todd so far, or Hazukari or the other accused men or anything else that I've encountered. Just Vic Mignogna.
https://mobile.twitter.com/MarzGurl
'
She has received multiple death threats and threats of physical harm, which doesn't seem to be adding to the situation.
'
This group meanwhile is partly talking about some of the efforts that have gone into falsifying at least some of the reports:
https://mobile.twitter.com/eldarmark/status/1093694846303268864
'
If you scroll down you come across posts where a person openly suggests Vic's hand be photoshopped to make it appear as if he is grabbing a girl's breast (linking to the tweet itself because idk how the fuck to link to twitter images):
https://mobile.twitter.com/SweetoBeansu/status/1093377815964254210
PODCAST PART 2:
-the guys make it very clear that "the longer it takes someone to come forward, the less likely they are to believe them." They have very low opinions of the MeToo movement.
'
-They've now begun to talk about the girl who accused Todd Haberkorn. Although at the time of recording, as previously mentioned, Todd hadn't actually been named at this point.
'
They now are talking about Voice Actors that have been "blackballing" Vic, supposedly proceeding the accusations
Shawn Shemmell (the voice of Goku) they've mentioned, who supposedly is a bit of a git (not the word they used). Not gonna recap all the incidents they mentioned about him being a git. Related to Vic: He's been liking all the "KickVic" tweets, and that he supposedly attempted to have voice actors disinvited from events (including boycotting any events Vic might be at, if I'm understanding this correctly-- I'll admit this part confused me a little).
-DC Douglas they mentioned, who had a video of the PodCasters taken down in the past that was about him after he brought a woman up on stage while reading RE fabrication and made out with her, who apparently "masturbated to completion" at an audition, stripped naked and humped the floor, inviting someone to his room to masturbate with him or something. They make it clear they're not accusing him of any actual sex crime, but they find it very ironic that this guy is trying to be the moral compass and speak out against Vic.
'
Other people they mention:
-Patrick Sites
-J Michael Tatum
-"The bird man from breath of the wild" (Sean Chiplock? Idk, they said he's a furry, if that helps anyone figure out who it is)
They goes on to say that all the rumors started back when Vic made the announcement that he finds yaoi disrespectful to the author, and, especially when he played the character-- and when he knows the people who played the other characters-- he finds it uncomfortable, and therefore refuses to sign yaoi and Yuri fanworks.
'
These started the rumours that Vic is a homophobic person and hates gay people and freaks out about yaoi, which escalated to a rumour claiming he was suing a hotel because someone slid yaoi under his door (which did not happen at all), and that he's a radical Christian. However, they mention there's video of him yelling AT radical christians for their behaviours because that's literally the opposite of who he is.
'
Then the rumours turned into how he's an asshole to the con-staff, and only recently did they turn into he's a sexual creep
They go on to imply a lot of the girls accusing him are... unattractive, and therefore he'd have no reason to actually do anything to them since he has attractive women as an option available to him instead.
'
They do mention multiple times that all these things seem to happen at panels and cons and point out that every single panel he's ever done has been recorded.
'
END PODCAST
'
These are all the relevant (more or less) concepts they put forward as evidence on Vic's behalf
He is a Voice Actor, who is particularly active in the anime industry and English dubbing. He's most famous for his roles in FMA and DBZ, but he's done literally hundreds of characters.
'
https://www.behindthevoiceactors.com/Vic-Mignogna/
I've been attempting to sum up what Anime Outsiders points have been about in this chat. I don't want to retype it but basically they say there has been evidence that:
-A lot of the photos being spread around, not only are the stories not true, but the photos have been confirmed as being stolen FROM VIC'S fanclub to be used as part of this trial by fire against him, most of which, according to them, centres around someone named Mars Girl.
'
-additionally, apparently one of the women speaking out against them also accused another voice actor of sexual assault, and it was more or less proven that she was the one actively pursing a relationship with him, even after the supposed assault occurred.
'
^ this is a summary of their two main points. Why or if this got them removed from Twitter I'm not sure yet.
'
Vic has been fired from Rooster Teeth as well as FUNimation (I believe) as a result of the accusations.
wow, I feel so sorry for him, he seems innocent. anyone who would falsely accuse someone of rape should suffer all the punishment that the accused would recived.
I'm trying very hard to report the information as unbias as possible, but honestly so far it seems likely that this is a combination of overreaction to downright sabotage... and it's really beyond horrific if that's the case. There definitely are elements of it in either case from what I've seen so far
So at this point I doubt anyone will care, but for posterity's sake: I mentioned somewhere in here that there was an accusation from a girl who accused Vic assaulted her when he was working for a church (associated with a Christian school) and she was a minor (iirc). This claim has since been discredited as the institution in question says they have no record of him working there (or this incident), they never would have hired him for the work in question to begin with, and they haven't a clue who this person was and have no way of verifying her identity as she made her entire claim anonymously and has failed to offer any clarification to them, or the world at large, as to who she is or the discrepancies in her story.
'
Additionally: according to her own story she would have been over the age of consent in the state in question (Virginia) and therefore not a minor.
There have been a huge amount of other updates to this entire monstrosity of twitter-shaming that is Vic's case, and if anyone does happen to want more info/updates I can try and provide them (I'm a good deal better informed than I was at the start of this) but even if not, I wanted to make that correction since it was just left hanging there on my part.
