I come from a small town filled with boys trying their hardest to get a scholarship to go to college but not once did I ever see a parent go off the handle over a game. Not once.
I don't know if I was raised in a good area or what but to let kids have fun is the only point of the game. Nothing more.
Not because I was a badass, but because my teammates were we had NBA scouts at nearly half our games. They aren't hard to spot either.
None went to the NBA, but half the team went to college on basketball scholarships... some wound up playing overseas professionally and one transferred, switched to football and went to the NFL.
I was a youth soccer referee for a couple years... The money they pay is not worth the abuse from parents that had NO clue about rules or the sport in general. Yes, referees will make mistakes but always keep in mind that it's not as easy as you think and not a single official in any sport is there that doesn't want to be there. There's a ton of stuff to remember and you need to make tons of real time split decisions that aren't always right
