I would love to- but my husband is allergic to animal dander so that kills every shot of getting a service animal.

get a tortoise? They're pretty chill... don't really need an enclosure since they're so slow, pretty easy to feed, and have a a literal and figurative shell you can bounce ideas off. The downsides... humidity can mess with them, they can't control their bladder, and about once a week your going to find tortoise dooky somewhere.
