Well it's a global thing. We should care about all countries. If the US election system wasn't so broken, maybe someone better than those two could have been nominated. By the way, Europe doesn't have that good of a political system either
But don't you think that any peoples prosperity and security highly depends on the same assets of their partners people? The times where you can solve problems in an egocentric approach are long gone. We all depend on each other, so we have to take a minimum of care of each other.
Depending on others is a risk. And worse than that, it's unnecessary for the US.
Now don't get me wrong, if other countries are willing to do things to try and get into our goodwill, we should repay them in as proportionate a manner as possible without compromising ourselves.
But if our security or prosperity relies on someone a world away, we need to correct that. All too often throughout history have nations crumbled and empires burned because of misplaced trust.
It's better to be relied upon, than to be reliant.
Oh no, don't get me wrong, I know you're the number one!
I don't exactly know in what, but as you keep saying it over and over again, it has to be true. USA! USA!
No imports anymore, you guys have the knowledge and raw materials for everything. You don't need strategic and/or trade partners in the world. No more exports, just produce for your own market, that's gonna work out just fine!
Nationalism and isolationism have worked out perfectly so often in history, why should that be different in God's own country? Wishing you the best of luck, even though you'll never need it, as you're the center of the existing world, if not the universe, anyway, Number one baby!
Don't put words in my mouth. Look at what globalism has cost us versus how it's benefited us. Frankly, it ain't globalism I have a problem with, it's western Europe and the middle/far east.
Globalism would be fine if our partners were Central/South America, Russia, China, and the Pacific nations.
The Atlantic has only ever cost us money, jobs, and lives.
Russia and China are at least willing to look after themselves rather than running to us for help, only to turn on us when we actually do work.
Yeah... Like Europe has its shit together. Humans in general are a garbage water species, there isn't a single member that is better than the next and until we learn that we are doomed to failure.
