If he sleeps with 10 women he's a stud
But a stud and a slut are not two sides of the same coin
There are fat, ugly, characterless sluts
But there are no fat, ugly, characterless studs
But why isn't there a positive word for women who like many partners? Oh wait, nevermind, I know why! Our society encourages women to keep their virginities and stay "pure", but at the same time pressures men into losing their virginity. It's unfair both ways; women are shamed for having sex, and men are shamed for not having sex.
I believe that studs are just sluts who look good. if you're a stud, you're just a handsome slut.
the fact that theres not positive term for female slut is good, because there shouldn't be one for males. 2 wrongs don't make a right.
It's easier for women to get sex than for a man to get sex. That's why women are called sluts as a shameful term because it's easy to get a guy to sleep with you, men are very basic and their sexual desires can be solved quite quickly. Women on the other hand are more complicated in that sense, women are much harder to please and whatnot. This was explained to me by someone else I'm paraphrasing.
Well here's something for you to think about @sunflowers: How easy is it for men to manipulate women using sex? And how easy is it the other way around?
These terms come with presuppositions built into them. The supposition for a "slut" is that she is doing it for some sort of benefit, or just doesn't have the same moral standards as the majority of people. The supposition for a "stud" is that he managed to achieve a difficult task of appealing to so many different women, that he deserves some recognition, because for most men such a task would be insurmountable.
Now I'm not saying that either of these is a good descriptor or stereotype. Only pointing out their background and how they came to be defined and characterised.
