Depression usually knocks on your door when you are going through something horrible, or dealing with the aftermath of it. Unless this helmet can wipe your memory, wipe out your oppressors, or even give you a brand new life, I do not believe it will do much. I could wear it indoors for fun tho
Lol. The oppressors idea sounds promising. However depression is a state of mind, not a state of being. While trauma and tragedy can trigger or worsen depression, many clinical sufferers objectively have “nothing to be depressed about” in the eyes of others. Many have careers, are financially at least healthy, have friends and family and hobbies. But when the brain becomes severely unbalanced a spiral can occur where people only see the bad in their present past and future. In a circle- negative thoughts and words/actions, and emotions reinforce each other and create a “hole” thaT many can’t climb out alone. Treatments for depression seldom treat the things bothering a person- instead they aim to restore chemical balance and give the tools to allow a person to return to neural and have a chance to climb out themselves. Such a helmet likely stimulates the brain to restore positive function.
@guest_ >:( How dare you be technical about this!? (lol) The head bucket thingy will wipe your negative memories, then wipe out your enemies, and then give you a new life. There! We have the cure!
There's a difference between experiencing sadness or grief and depression. Depression is an illness. An imbalance of chemicals in your brain. It may send out electric currents or perhaps chemicals that either neutralise negative chemicals or increase positive ones or alter your neurotransmitters
It's not just experiencing something bad. It's a constant feeling of listlessness.
