The writing went down the drain after 4. Character development is gone, motivations are nonsensical, the entire show is a pissing contest about who is the most badass. It's so tedious.
I'm not saying that just to be unique and non mainstream. I watch a bunch of mainstream stuff. I'm just kind of sad GoT departed so much from its original subtext. I do care, that's why it matters to me. I'm still hoping this season will redeem the previous two. Its first episode wasn't bad at all. We'll see.
Never watched walking dead either, I commented because my facebook feed is a shit show of people gripping about spoilers. So I get a laugh when somebody gets all pissy about it.
why must you be so self-defencive @celticrose? If someone want's to say they don't watch GoT they have just as much a right to say it as GoT fans have to watch GoT. but I do see where your coming from, I think that @mrdad01 didn't really need to say anything about it but I don't think he was getting upset over people liking it, just them over reacting to anything that did or didn't happen in the finale of the show.
Bingo, I don't care what people like, just the fact they act all crazy if someone happens to spoil something. I've seen one exchange where someone threatened physical harm to someone else (which I'm sure has happened before) if you'd go far as to risk jail time or legal issues because somebody happens to guess a plot point for a show or movie or post something, you really need a reality check.
@niriel I don't think the show has gone completely down the drain, but I do kind of agree that the character development and motivations got a bit skewed somewhere along the way. Particularly the entire thing with Daenerys and Jon Snow where the entire storyline for their sudden romance is ".... And then we fucked because the script said we do."

Unpopular opinion but I find Bran's entire arc tedious at this point as well. He's become little more than a channel to explain away plotholes (such as Jon Snow having literally no other way of learning about his heritage and such).
'
Still, I enjoy several of the characters. Sansa, Theon, Arya, Jon, Jamie, and some of the others do still have some character development going on. The SFX are still decent, the dialogue is often entertaining, and I am looking forward to seeing how this whole thing finally comes to an end
I used to love the show then my friend spoiled the red wedding and its REALLY hard to get back to a shower after ahits been spoiled for me. I need help to be demotivated to get back to it because I still like it
