Be wary of radical change in people. Drastic sudden change is seldom long term. It isn’t just anecdotal evidence but scientific evidence that supports the case. Change is about creating new habits and behaviors and getting rid of old ones that may have been lifelong. Speaking of prices- things occasionally go on sale for huge reductions but bounce back within a day or week or so. However many consumer goods have steadily periodically increased in price by a few cents at a time- a can of soda was an average of 25-50 cents 20 or so years ago and now averages 75 cents to 1.50. So long term- small and regular changes that stick will have a greater impact than huge one time changes that revert or become worse after they pass. Most of the time anyway and as it applies to human behavior outside extraordinary circumstances.
