My friend didn't believe me. We got bored of playing Minecraft all the time and he suggested buying Terraria together. I fought tooth and nail until it was on sale and I didn't have an excuse. We played for ten minutes.
Unless you have the sheer wealth for it. You play long enough, at some point you can enchant every armour and tool you have with mending and unbreaking. (Plus a number if other useful enchantments) at some point you just have the excess wealth to craft a diamond hoe enchanted with mending and unbreaking. You have the last hoe you will ever need.
Top tip: Always carry a spare pickaxe with the enchantents Efficiency, Fortune and Unbreaking on it.
That way, if you are either actively mineing or just exploring, when you stumble across say a diamond, gold or iron ore vein, the resources you receive will be higher than normal. After time, you'll be filthy rich in resources.
Then, you can build dumb crap like a Tower of Pimps or move into a Desert Temple and renovate the pyramid to be glass, gold and diamond.
