One of the clients I work with has a disability, but he's not disabled enough to get benefits, so he has to work to earn money. Because he earns money for employment, he's ineligible for disability. It's a lose-lose.
One of the most screwed up things I seen in the hospital was old man, probably mi eighties, told that he was denied by Medicare so he has to leave. I was visiting someone after surgery and this was a post op step down area. The guy was dying,I felt bad for him, seen him everyday for a couple of weeks before the nurse said he will have to leave. How the fuck is someone that can't move, eat, leave ? I don't know if it was paperwork that wasn't done properly, but man, that was handled wrong.
on a gurney.... left turn towards the morgue.
That's a fucked up joke... in all seriousness, that's a fucked up joke.... but hey... US healthcare.
I just kind of assumed US healthcare.
Yeah. Poor old man dying of cancer, bed ridden and told to get out. The nurses there were about 50/50 for being wonderful ,caring, amazing people to heartless sacks of shit.
