When I was in school guys would were these sweater vest like muscle shirt that had no sleeves. And the school stopped them from wearing them said if they wanted to wear them they had to wear them with a shirt underneath. They also stopped them from wearing any mesh shirts. Yeah it was popular at one point lol.
What about the almighty tank tops? Yeah, in middle school you can't because a uniform it's obligatory but in most high schools you could wear whatever you want
Its actually worse now than in the early 2000s when I was in school, though as with most things, it varies dramatically by region. There have been cases of girls being sent home for showing COLLAR BONE in recent years. Personally I live in an area where it's normal to hit 115+ for 3 solid months, so they are a little less rigid when it comes to students just trying not to die from heat strokes on the bus. When I was in High School the rule was the skirt/shorts had to be at least so long that with arms at your sides your fingertips didn't touch skin. I tested this once by wearing a stupid short dress that way a good 8+ inches above my knees and barely covered by bum, but because my legs are long and I stood with my shoulders up my fingers only hit cloth. I put on jeans under it before 1st period because I just have never been comfortable in short anything but I was curious. Now, that SO wouldn't fly.
I never went to a school with uniforms. So we just had to make sure our shorts/skirts weren't to short, shoulders in clothes had to be an half inch wide if not than a shirt must be under it, pants had to fully cover underwear and butts, and shirts had to fully cover our stomachs. No south park clothing. That is all we had to do.
O and no non natural hair color, visible tattoos (yes some kids had tattoos in jr high I personally knew 2), no face piercing and no Males wearing earrings, no visible hickies (ALOT of guys and girls had to wear bandaid on their neck due to this lmao) and no see through/mesh clothing
It seems alot but really it was alot less than other schools my cousin went to a school where she had to wear knee high socks.
We didn't have uniforms in high
school but my middle school did because it was in a REALLY bad area (we moved between last year of middle and freshman year) and we had to wear uniforms so there wasn't issues with gang colors ect.
This is why we just wear uniforms here, no more bs, everyone will look equally hideous and uncomfortable.
Although I did have my uniforms custom made by a tailor so it was a little tight and short.
Wait, I was violating the dress code for my whole high school life without knowing!
