This hits close to home for me. My parents were raped and murdered by a pothole.

I'm going to assume that he wasn't raped and murdered by a pothole. Perhaps a pothole caused him to lose control of his vehicle, or he may have been riding a motorcycle and gone flying forward as a result of the pothole depth
