No, it's not just the logo, the technology is really impressive too. The cheese grater is a proper powerhouse.

Older pros even from a decade or so back are STILL great work horses. Whenever I need a server for home or the hardware for a Linux machine for general projects I try and snag old used or refurb’d Macs- especially pros. If you aren’t gaming or certain other things they’ll perform in line with newer hardware costing much more and come pre made (maybe swap a thing here or there to taste..) It’s solid hardware and can be found for even as low as $50- sometimes free. I don’t like Apple as a company and I find their classically restrictive and despotic style of design distasteful- but props where due. No tech company is perfect- but each tend to have their places and uses.

My MacBook Pro from 2012 still works really well, use it every day and it can still run pretty demanding stuff from the current day. Might be overpriced tech (I got mine on a heavy sale) but it's far outlasted any of my other tech by miles.
