well i mean if you could go without giving your child clothes in increasing larger sizes as time goes on and didnt have to clean them daily up to the point they could do it themselves (but still cost money to do) and were able to feed them basically meat cereal for every meal and oh idk, maybe if they kinda didnt need to be raised for like 2 times as many years as a dog lives total on the long end of dog lifespans then maybe you.

i wonder how far the number is dragged down on both "average cost" figures by people that dont spend nearly enough money on their human/dog.
A vet visit alone can cost up to $200.00. If you feed your dog good food or even make it for them (I do), along with other expenses such as toys, treats, harnesses, leashes, etc., the cost is much greater than $1000.00 a year. I don't think you factored in any emergency visit for both the child and dog. It's going to happen. I think your calculations are way off. ..and how about college for a child?
