I don't honestly what people really expect.
I went to tech school for two years to be an electrician and worked summers as an electrician apprentice on construction job sites.
First summer my only friends where a broom and a shovel, the next summer I got to pull and terminate low voltage wire. Then I finally got to do "fun stuff".
My point is experience is worth it's weight in gold. I'm not saying education isn't relevant, but too many people I know my age need a lot of hand holding to get on the road to gain experience, and it's something that needs to change
