It actually doesn’t particularly matter most places. The money is usually insured and often somehow marked. Most places dealing with cash like banks and check cashiers are told to simply hand over the money regardless of if a person is armed or not. In America there’s also no distinction in criminal penalty. In the US, simply saying you have a gun even if you do not or holding that avocado automatically escalates the robbery to an armed one and you can be charged as though you’d had an actual weapon.
