With respect, CD Projekt has a pretty fair track record with their employees. However, companies like EA, Bioware, and Bethesda do not. Especially Bioware, they've gone so downhill and are so different from what they used to be... oof.
Pretty fair track record? Hell naw. Terrible long crunch, hiring and firing programmers like on a treadmill, unpaid overtimes, that doesn't sound fair to me.
And just because others do it doesn't mean it makes it okay. I have, do and will criticize every single one of these companies for their shitty business practices (though it may hurt, especially with BioWare because I love their old games, I replay Dragon Age Origins every year because it's so good), but this post was about CDPR so it's fair to mention them specifically.
Oh no I hear you, and I never said I thought it was okay because others did it--seriously I didnt even suggest it. Can you toss me a citation or something because everything I'm finding online shows an impeccable track record for CD Projekt.
I'm not asking either to pick a fight I'm legitimately trying to get to the bottom of this because if it's TRUE then I'm going to be a little heart broken...
Check out some videos made by YongYea about this (I'm not usually a fan of his but this coverage was really good), I think it's called "Not all is well at CD Projekt Red" or something like that, he then also made a video about their response which was just the shittiest thing ever. And as far as I know they haven't made any efforts to improve since this information came to light. Check it out, I'm sorry to break your heart but it's better to be critical and help them improve than think they were perfect to begin with and ignore the shit that's going on over there.
I wasn't exactly a kid when Bioware and Bethesda were in their heyday, but everything about them now STILL feels like they're shitting on my childhood.
*massively underpays and overworks their employees*
Yeah, you sure do...
