I still remember when I was in high school there was this boy that was like the picture boy of nerds. He came into the lunchroom at breakfast one morning carrying a grocery bag with a whole DVD collection of the anime ranma 1/2. He wasn't coming to sit with us or anything he was just walking by I stopped him as he walked by us. I asked him is that ranma 1/2 he said yes it is. I said Please let me see it. So he showed it to me and I said okay you're my friend now and can I borrow this. He laughed and said what? I said yeah I'm going to be confiscating this and he said he was shocked that a girl would like anime. I said I'm technically not a girl because I have five brothers and my brother who is two years younger than me made me watch anime and now I'm hooked on it so you going to linde me them or what lol.
He didn't lend it to me but he did give me a magazine with manga in it.
Only kid I ever saw that liked anime or manga in all my school experience. Lol
There was a kid in my grade that purposefully got fat and shaved his eyebrows because he thought he was fucking Morpheus. He then Naruto sprinted up and down the halls. He was one of three kids that got a pass for it because the Principal deemed that he wasn't technically "running".
He also wore Hawaiian shirts. That still leaves me befuddled when I ponder it.
Oh, the other two kids that got a pass, they were both deaf and spooked easy >_>
one time i told my boss that i wished working hour were ending soon so i could just go home and watch anime, she laughed and joked "tentacles stuff?"
i looked right in her eyes and told her i'd watched way worse.
maybe that's why my contract ended a month later.

I haven't seen any anime besides Dragon Ball Z as a kid, most anime isn't my bag. I was in a home ec class once where I didn't know anybody, so I decided I'd sit beside this kid who had a Dragon Ball shirt on since maybe I'd be able to talk to him. I said, "I like your shirt," to which his nasally-ass voice wheezed, "Thanks have you ever seen Attack on Titan?" at me and I knew it was gonna be a long semester.
That kid must have asked me at least once a week if I'd seen that show and now I can't ever watch it even if I wanted to.
