There’s also a thing called the Drawer Effect. Basically, papers are more likely to be published if they find a correlation; when they don’t, they’re not likely to be published. So even though there may be an equal number of papers published supporting/rejecting the correlation between violent video games and violence, there is actually a bias in the literature itself.
