The president isn't some all powerful being that can fix all of our problems. He isn't a supreme ruler that has control over the decisions of the country. There are processes and a system in place that keeps one man from having too much power.
If you don't know Congress makes the laws and the president can only SUGGEST changing them because of the checks and balances system you need to 1)stay in school or 2)go back to school and learn US Government...dummies
everyone's right, stop the spying, let the terrorists plot continue without prevention. then the government can say "we could have stopped it, but that would be invasion of privacy"
just saying, if the US government allowed one attack that could have been prevented by their spying program, would you want it stopped, or let it happen cause it violated privacy?

nice deflection on the question, but you're right, it is a problem, the US has a "might is right" and "do as we say, not do as we do" attitude. I'd like them to let an attack happen, then let the public know it could have been prevented, but it would have violated others' privacy. The government can't win, they spy and have allegedly prevented attacks, or they don't and let the attacks happen with the people blaming them for not stopping it by any means necessary.
Yeah, they were. And this story actually broke during the Bush presidency, and America just forgot about it. Just wait. We'll forget about this in a couple months too, then act all surprised again when it happens with the next Pres too.
