I was never for that. Growing up I really liked that Spider-man was his own man. Going and doing what he had to do, not because Iron Man lectured him about responsibility, but because he's already learned the hard way that he needs to help the little guys with the little things.
It's not that Tony told him to be responsible (though he did say to be realistic with his superheroing), Peter just looked up to Tony and wanted to prove himself to him
