*sigh* The doctor operating the x-ray is there all day, and probably has to do it many times each day. You are there for what, five minutes maybe? Radiation in small amounts is harmless, and will go away on it's own after a day or so. But, being exposed many times, in a single day will build up, and can have adverse effects. So yes, you are fine, they are not.

I had to get an x Ray today and the person operating had to go into a separate room not to get away from the thing it was so she could make sure I was lined up correctly.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?
