September 21st is Belize’s independence from the UK. A host of South American countries and “Latin” countries as well as Mexico celebrate in September, but most fall between like the 15th and the 18th. That’s all I’m aware of. Maybe someone else knows- but I suspect that as you’ve likely indeed and are asking ironically that this is a bit post that is either a little late... or very late for the intended day.
“This July, the rematch of the century. America Vs. Britain, only on pay per view in... AMERICAN REVOLUTION 2: This time it’s personal. See these two one time champs duke it out once more. For the glory, and to finally decide if it’s spelled honor or honour and what words get a “u” once and for all.”
Commentator: “well Skip, the odds on this I feel are pretty close. But Britain is old, and they aren’t in the fighting shape they were last time by a long shot. America certainly has more time in the ring in the last several decades”
Skip: “Well lots not sell Britain short. The young upstart America may have more recent fights, but its record on wins lately has been spotty, and contentious at best often coming down to decision on points. It’s current manager leaves a lot to be desired as well, and there is decent within its camp.”
C: “Very true Skip. What do you say to allegations Britain is just looking for cash to deal with its recent upcoming divorce?”
Skip: “well, it’s possible, but they also really want the respect. Wen Canada took the title from the crown they were a lot more humble about it, and paid respect to the former champ. America not so much, and that’s something Britain hasn’t forgotten.”
Commentator: “Very true Skip. But Britain doesn’t seem to have a lot of the health problems America does, and getting in shape and recovering from the fight their free health care will really help.”
Skip: “perhaps. But let’s not forget that they are metric. If they run 6km a day to get ready and the US runs 6 miles, the US will be in better shape for the fight. Plus these rounds will be standard rounds and the UK is used to shorter Metric rounds with tea breaks in between. They may not be able to keep pace.”
Commentator: All good points to consider. One way or another I’m excited. If the Brits and Americans fight each other with half the ferocity that they’ve been using to fight with themselves lately this will be quite a show. That does it for sports corner, stay tuned for news as weather next.”
