*spends 20 minutes outside in the freezing morning rain waiting for dog to poop. Dog refuses. Late to work. Put dog back inside and rush to work for 8 hours. Come home to find dog has pooped all over the house
Uhm I'm pretty sure that @f__kyeahhamburg has a lovely dog, but okay. Also no I don't because I wouldn't have the time and in my opinion too many people get dogs without considering the time and effort behind it.
Hi again, thanks for backing me up Mia.
Indeed I have a dog and I only have it because upfront I clarified that I can take it to work with me. As I have a full time job and thus am not at home for 10-12 hrs a day, I wouldn't have one if this wasn't possible.
If you only have 20 minutes for your dog in the morning, there's the problem. Expecting your dog to poop on command doesn't help either.
The average dog needs 3 hours of your time and 5 hours of your presence daily at the minimum to be a happy and healthy one.
Leaving your dog alone for longer than 6 hours, which should be the absolute exception, is only acceptableif you walked it dead tired before. These times can be changed by having more than one dog, but then you need the matching garden, house aso.
If the circumstances of your life don't allow you to spend the most of your day with it, don't get a dog.
