I'm with @scatmandingo on this one. They could've settled it by indimidating him which would probably work just fine - 5 gangs vs one guy would scare the crap out of anyone. Physical violence should be used as a last resort in my opinion.

It says "went to go" not "beat the fuck outta him" it's also probably not even real man like it's sole purpose is to go 'ha that's crazyyy' not for people to go 'omg this is such a violent crime!!' when no one here is the OP
