Total BS. According to National Geographic "Day of the Dead was recognised by UNESCO in 2008 as a national Indigenous holiday," and "over 500 woman gathered in Mexico City on November 1, 2014, to set a Guiness World Record for the largest gathering of women dressed as Catrina."

no numb nutz, they didn’t do whole ass parades until the movie, that doesn’t mean they didn’t celebrate or recognize the holiday
