It's because it's not perfectly symmetry; the human brain usually doesn't like perfect symmetry, as pretty much nothing in nature actually achieves that. The pillars being out of whack is what makes it look appealing. It's the same thing with the Taj Mahal, the dome and like half the roof is off by about a foot and a half. It's not enough to notice consciously, but subconsciously you can pick up on it and it makes it less strange (I mean, the story behind it is always going to be super strange, especially the coffin placement, but whatever)

I want to go there so badly. The architect designed it to be very natural, and he died before it was finished. It was started in 1882 and they only reached the Midway point on 2010! It just looks so amazing.

They also want to finish building it in 2026 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of DalĂ's death
