But not everyone wants to recycle. If I booked an AirBNB and there was a option to pay $5 to have the trash separated and recyclables taken to a center I would most likely decline it.

We are all at different levels of conscious around recycling. Comparible to the continuum of vegan to shark fin soup. Not saying we should go vegan, but we all need to consider the impacts we have on our surroundings.
Example: Since NZ banned plastic bags, you hardly see bags scattered over the side of the road, on beaches etc. They don't go to landfill, so they can't be blown away anymore.
But this is about money, not about recycling. If she truly chose the environment then she would do the task for free. She isn’t providing a service that benefits the tenant so why are they required to pay her?
i barely recycle for one fact, 90% of our "recycling" went to china, of the remaining, only 10% was actually recycled. Since China said no more, it's still the same amount recycled, which is just 1%.
