It should say:
What are we going to build?
A POINTLESS WALL!
Because the majority of illegal immigrants coming to this country by plane. And the wall he insisted on building and swears is unclimbable is easily climbable and they have contests to see how fast they can get over and back using nothing.
And if anyone fell for the fact that he said Mexico would pay for it are idiots.
All of the wars are strategic mate. The U.S. being a status quo power doesn't like volatility. If the U.S. pulled out tomorrow the Middle East would erupt into all out war. With Russia and China doing their best to take over the region.
We aren't pulling out tomorrow. The bad guys are dying, the Saudis, Kurds, Iraqis, and Afghans are armed and trained up, so we're starting to draw down. Or at least Trump is. Let Russia and China fight over the scraps, we've achieved our objectives and so long as our allies remain unmolested, there's no reason to get in their way.
After all, there's always Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iraq, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Southern Europe to lock things down, or at least buy some time if we ever need to go back.
Even if the region did blow up, it's only our problem if we keep making it our problem.
Iraq not even a couple years ago got bumfucked by ISIS and took our support in reclaiming their territory. Afghanistan has a joke of a military. The Taliban will run them over within 2 years of a U.S. withdrawal. Vietnam V.2 Electric Boogaloo. The Saudis and Iranians will heat up the cold war they've been waging on eachother since the 80's which would destroy the global oil markets. Turkey despises the U.S. and NATO. The only reason they haven't left is because they know they can't last against Russian aggression in the region. A Russian and Chinese dominated middle east will destroy the maritime empire the U.S. has built since the dawn of our country. Our country exists and is the only superpower because of trade. To lose out on trade would destroy everything.
"so long as our allies remain unmolested" I'm sorry to say arguably our most important ally, the kurds, got completely fucked over when trump pulled out with little warning. Almost all our military higher ups were disgusted. Namely, James Mattis. We made a similar mistake pulling out of Afghanistan too soon, which ultimately prolonged our presence there. And if "the region blew up" it is a massive problem as things currently stand. We're heavily economically reliant on Saudi Arabia in particular, not just with oil, but with arms and military deals as well. The kurds after taking heavily losses, have now had to realign with Al-Assad's government. The issue with that is that we've made Iran more powerful in the region as a result, which was one of our primary objectives in getting involved in the proxy war in the first place. I'm not saying Obama was great in syria, he deeply mismanaged several issues, especially regarding Russia, but Trump's actions have severely damaged our
reputation in the region, not to mention any influence we may have had in supporting a democratic or at least less restrictive government in place of the Assad regime. I suggest reading news from a diverse set of sources to avoid bias in any direction in the future. Believe me, I want fewer combat deployments as much as you guys do, but giving Iran more power in the region is exactly what we all want to avoid to do so. That's why Trump has put such tough sanctions on Iran. The mistake is undermining his own sanctions by pulling out of Syria too early. We've lost our most reliable ally.
You have a problem with Assad or Iran? Vote for war.
As for the mess with the Kurds and Turks: I'm not any more a fan of motherfuckers who shoot pregnant women than I am of the motherfuckers using them as suicide bombers.
The Kurds aren't a unified front, they kill eachother just as often as they fight ISIS or Assad, nevermind the denominations openly allied with either.
And the US ain't reliant on the Saudis so much as Europe is, we have our own pipelines. Thank you, POTUS.
ISIS only took over because Obama had no exit strategy, now they're almost wiped out, and we'll be leaving embedded forces to maintain standards and discipline. As for the Taliban, they want peace. If we aren't going to level Afghanistan for real, we'll have to talk with them. Thankfully, the National Army and Police forces will be effective proxies to reign the fuckers in, on top of embedded forces and cross training. See the trend?
Let the global Oil market burn, be a great opportunity to start exporting.
We aren't a superpower because of trade, we're a superpower because we butchered or tookover all the competition. Don't pretty it up, don't call it something else. Naval domination ain't going away, especially not over the middle east, and the Russians and Chinese are just as likely to be at each others throats. Just like the 70's, people seem to think they like eachother more than they really do. My opinion? We ought to buddy with the Russians over the EU or Chinese. Half of Asia and our persistent Pacific presence would be golden for surrounding the sneaky fuckers.
"Buddy with the Russians" lmao, we've had over 100 years of tense relations with the Russians. As if that would be resolved so easily you also have the flagrant acts of aggression towards eastern europe, namely in Ukraine. Russia is very much not our friend.

I'm well aware of the relations between China and Russia. They don't like eachother anymore than they hate us. Both Russia and China have taken steps together to subvert the US in it's foreign policy and unsermine the strength of the american dollar.

As if this needed explained. How do you think the Navy is funded? We have such a large navy for two reasons; keep trade routes open and free of danger in international waters and for power projection. The US Navy has a large base situated in Djibouti for counter piracy operations to protect all trade not just U.S. trade in the region.
