well you know me freedom is the most important thing and im with you guys 100%. that being said fuck those thing were dangerous lol. i still remember going to picnics as a kid and watching them fly and thinking that would suck to get stuck in the head with and being paranoid all day. and how is it its always the drunks that want to play with them? oh what fond memories.

Lol. Yeah. My mother thought it was a ridiculous ban because of you look at a 2ft long metal spear and say: “yeah. Leave those out for the kids and let’s go inside and talk..” well... she though it was a tad silly that humans figured out spears were deadly 10,000 odd years ago and people were still seemingly confused on the issue in 1970.

The government banned the sale of lawn darts... in the 70’s. They reversed the ban with the exceptions that manufacturers not sell them in toy stores and place a warning on the box. Then in the 80’s a very vocal father who’s child had been allowed to play with something that had been 10 years prior headline news for being banned for killing kids... and had a warning on the box... and wasn’t sold at toy stores.... argued the warning was too small because the box was big. And so they banned lawn darts again. And at the time of the ban- before all these mass shootings... people were already arguing that instead of lawn darts we should ban guns.

In the end... banning lawn darts may have saved... based on historical data... 6, 12 lives? Maybe more. Who knows. Considering those types of toys fell out of favor decades ago... maybe less? So yay? The government caved in to pressure from a very vocal minority and banned the sale of a product that could possibly kill the children of inattentive and careless parents...? So we should also... ban guns...? But... you can still own lawn darts. You can make lawn darts. Manufacturers can and do sell the separate pieces to build lawn darts. You just can’t sell assembled lawn darts. So... I dunnoh. The comparison seems like a bit of a stretch.

Well, lawn-darts aren't guaranteed by the constitution, but you could make the argument that they are "arms" and therefor should be included with the 2nd. Anyway yeah, terrible commie rule; they should be legal. I'd think they're fairly easy to make; it just says you can't sell them.
