it means it's not romantic in nature. But really is should mean relating to the ideas proposed by plato (at least i think that's how that works ㄟ( ▔, ▔ )ㄏ

Here’s the origin: “mid 17th century: from Platonic, with reference to a discussion of love in the Symposium by Plato.” So it does reference his work about a love which is then platonic
