I think that acknowledging what goes on and spreading the news is part of helping them too. Even with things that require donations or the like you may not be able to financially help but by sharing that information it could reach someone that might be able to

I think it’s a persons responsibility to check and verify what they are spreading. In this day and age there are multiple ways to determine how true something is before you share it
