I know that's a joke but a lot of womens' problems went undetected before the invention of sthetoscopes because this was a serious issue. Doctors would be reluctant as to touch or put their ear (and face) to a woman's chest.

Yes. Well said. I’m sure sometimes some doctors may have gotten a “thrill” out of it- but if you read physicians speaking on the issue from the time- they found it to be problematic or even disgusting. And now- remember- much like the person that says they wish they were in gynecologist- in reality not all- perhaps even most of your patients won’t be- attractive to you or even hygienic. The stuff that doctors see, smell... etc.... and that position puts doctor AND patient at risk for many communicable conditions.
