Also just in case anyone doesn’t get the other part of the Joke- this references the Tower of Babel- where supposedly humans from all over got together and built a tower up to heaven. The tower was knocked down, and the people scattered across the world, and they were all given different languages so that they could no longer communicate in order to be able to do something like that as a collective effort again. The details vary and there are different versions and tellings- but that is the gist of the important information on the story.

Yeah and just in case someone doesn't further understand the subtleties of the joke: it is showing how in the beginning the people building the tower of Babel could communicate easily, this is shown in Gru's confidence and the fact that the text is in english which most users of this meme site can read. Its then shows how people can't understand each other anymore due to the sad and perplexed [confused] face that Gru has as well as the text now being in Greek which [based off of assumptions] most users of this meme site cannot understand.
