We can historically link many if not most of these god’s together- showing how the gods and prophets and saints and heroes of each often flow in to others. Many early Christian Saints were heroes of Greek religion- that’s a whole different topic, Greek Religion vs Greek Mythology... but we can see that some figures keep names and change details, change names but keep identical details... using the ancient Greeks as examples- they didn’t care in a time of crisis which god they prayed to- even foreign gods- so long as they had some relationship to that god by which they could appeal for help.
So... are those “gods” really “dead”? If Bill Hung and Jill Smith get married and become the Hungs or the Smiths- does one or both die? New name, new home, new way of doing things than when they were single- new house rules and all that- not dead and certainly still around by another name. If they have a child- they might die. But again- just because your ancestors pass on doesn’t mean every shred of them is lost. To the contrary- most ancestors pass whatever they can to those after, and those after keep pieces of their DNA and their beliefs and culture alive.
And well- there are still some people or small groups that practice ancient religions- and sometimes they come back as we have seen with elements of indigenous faiths suppressed during colonialism and such. They may not be as precedent as once were- but certainly they aren’t “dead.” Religions change and grow. How long will most major religions or gods “live”? Historically speaking at least several thousand years. Much longer than any known person will. The oldest religious beliefs still in practice or use today predate the oldest structures left. In fact- many of the oldest man made structures on earth were- or are believed to be- religious structures.
As long as there are at least a moderate amount of people that know of a religion some will believe in it.
There are currently still people who are faithful worshippers of the Greek and Roman theology as well as Egyptian and Irish, etc
