I FEEL like it belongs to her. But... well.... legally... it gets dicey. Most lotteries have rules stating that players are required to follow the laws of the land. In other words- if a jackpot winner breaks a law in playing- their jackpot isn’t valid. In short- the lottery would likely argue- and has a valid case that- no one gets the money and the lottery keeps it for the next prize because winning with a ticket bought with stollen money requires you commit a crime. Not the theft that happened BEFORE you played- but as soon as you spend stollen money that itself is also a crime. Being dumb enough to admit the crime makes it pretty clear cut.
Not gonna touch it. There’s what I’d like to see happen, what I think is probably “fair,” and then there’s what’s likely to happen under law. When it comes to the law- the law is designed with intent and goal to “return all innocent parties to the state they were in before the crime...” more or less.
