Seriously though, I framed it. I was THAT proud of myself at the time.
I'm still proud; using the reflection of the gold pen I had, then placing it under glass creates that 3d effect. I got so distracted I stopped defining the turban and absolutely forgot about shadows.

I dig it, the gold looks really cool. like @nicengleman said it reminds me of Japanese art from the edo era, which is a good thing, it's the era where famous pieces like "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" came from.
Ah, "The Wave". I always thought it was about Kublai Khan royally fucking himself off the coast, but it's not. It's about introduction of trade routes with the east. Very interesting and I'd happily learn more if anyone can point out a direction... and NOT get me caught by a wave.
