the typical argument ive seen for this one is that all companies are ran by the bigboimanfatherclubofopression and they specially only get enough women on the payroll to fool people into thinking they arent trying to only have men working.
Really, I think the whole thing is NOT a plot against women and minorities. Very few executives and organizations actively try to pay women less, or promote them less often.
However. They do. It’s a phenomenon referred to as implicit bias and we are all subject to it.
There’s some great figures out there regarding orchestra hiring, where the number of women hired dramatically increased when the applicants played behind a screen.
