I um....did this once only maybe worse and it wasn’t text. My friends had started to prank each other and I knew it was only a matter of time before they tried me. I applied for a job and while waiting to hear from them I got another job and started working thinking the first place never responded.

One day a guy calls and he sort of jokes around saying hey you’ve been selected as a candidate and because of his tone I thought he’s joking and I’m getting pranked and I go oh come on quit fucking around you’re not serious my friends put you up to this right. He takes a more serious tone and goes no this is real. Thank god I had another job

Honestly, it's the supervisor's fault for not properly introducing themselves in the first text. I would do the same too.
