Well... I mean.... that was pretty much how it was for most of human history. The USA didn’t get the first public high school until 1821- 200 years ago apprx. It wasn’t even a requirement to attend any schooling until 1918- about 100 years ago. In 1940- the historical height of education in America to that point- 50% of young adults had graduated high school. For black Americans- the first public elementary school didn’t open until 1883. Atlanta didn’t open an elementary school for black children until 1924. So for many people alive today (especially those older than early 20’s or 30’s-) much or all of their lives were likely spent in a world where many or even most folks were home schooled by day drinkers- and for some communities- that was a much more likely reality much longer.

There certainly is good and bad in any part of history- so would it be better or worse? I don’t know. A whole lot of people sure seem to see those “good old days” of the past- to “make America great again” and all- so those people may get to find out if those days were as good as they think, of we were to live in a world full of homeschooled kids.
