I am a firm believer that Mexican Karen's are worse in that respected category.

While that whole “Karen is the N word” thing is overblown and ridiculous- and shows a complete detachment from understanding racial issues in America... I haven’t seen anyone say it is “racist-“ they say it is sexist. Now- I personally don’t see it as sexist- I DO see where it could be sexist- that is- I don’t think they are wrong that we must be careful who we label as a “Karen-“ as the stereotype “Karen” is meant to apply to an unreasonable and unnecessarily abrasive and self centered person-

But when we apply it ad hoc to any woman that would request elevation of a dispute or make a dispute when they feel the service they have received isn’t up to standard- we are creating an atmosphere where we are shaming women for being assertive.

To be clear- I am not saying there is anything wrong with the “Karen” label or stereotype itself beyond what we could say is wrong with any stereotype. It’s a tool which either a person behavior may fit- or we may apply to a person without their behavior warranting it. So I am saying that of course it isn’t racist- so far I’ve been lucky enough not to see anyone say it is racist- sadly some have compared it to racism and shown a complete lack of understanding for racial issues and undermining racial injustice. We just have to be careful as individuals not to apply the label “Karen” to any woman who speaks up for herself- as long as it only applies to people behaving ridiculously- it isn’t sexist or racist- it’s just a label for socially reprehensible behavior.
