But in all seriousness it isn’t about speed- well... speaking speed. In use:
Typing “www” is obviously faster than “world wide web”- and its intended to be used in addresses that are typed.
In speech- you’d be speaking an address if you bother to say the “www” at all- so if you SAY the address is “world wide web...” that isn’t what the person should type- sort of like how the website for Nike incorporated is “Nike” so if I say “go to World Wide Web dot Nike incorporated...” I’m sending you to a bad address.
But ultimately- we generally don’t call it the “World Wide Web” when speaking of the network- we call it the “internet” or the “net” which are both faster to say than “World Wide Web.” So in speech- its faster to say “internet” in typing, it is faster to say “www” and in practical terms- fastest is only a good thing if you actually get the correct outcome.
And of course- it’s still a sort of neat “shower thought” and I’m not taking away from that or tearing it down. I’m just adding some “shower thoughts” on the subject.
lol. Thank you for reading and for understanding. And please- jump in any time. It can get disjointed when I rant- but I do my best to go back and reply if I “talked over” someone. Please don’t feel bad bad for falling in the middle of my spam. It’s your site too!
