Good meme. Funny. PSA I have covered before- if your food doesn’t heat properly in the microwave, consider the dish that you are using. The shape plays a factor (a small chocolate placed on a flat plate will be exposed to more microwaves than it will in a deep bowl), but the material of the container is important. Some things pass or reflect or absorb microwaves more readily.

Another common mistake is using the wrong settings or cook time. This can take some experimenting and familiarity with your own microwave to nail down. If you are using a proper vessel for heating, your settings and timing are right... what you are trying to microwave maybe should t be microwaved. A microwave is a tool, and different jobs have tools that work best or worst. But say all those things are fine and lined up. What then?

Well- there is he possibility that your microwave sucks or is old- or both. Not all microwaves are created equally. Everything from the pattern they emit waves in, to how well the cooking chamber is engineered and constructed, to the wavelengths and power they can emit can be slightly different or very different. Some jobs require a microwave with a wattage that yours may not be able to produce- and just because your microwave DAYS it makes 1100 Watts doesn’t mean that is what it does- in a lab, under XYZ conditions, brand new, a PEAK or AVERAGE of 1100 Watts was measured to some industry standard. Not in the real world- and that 1100 Watts May not be what your food sees. If that’s the case- buying a new microwave may be the only fix.

But lastly- and you can google it or whatever- there are certain tricks in using a microwave that can help cook certain foods better or to taste. Everything from various methods of covering, to putting a small container of water or wet paper towel- to wrapping certain foods in towels etc etc. Best of luck.

Fun Tip! Don't put your food centre in the microwave when you heat it! It'll fucking murder your perfectionism, but the food will heat up better offset.
