Don't look at me, I didn't do it. I just give my humany characters weirdly normal names. Like Frank. Maybe to counter my more fantastical names line Dagonlekolotl and Draedor. My advice, use the little personality tables to roll personality traits, flaws, bonds, etc. as a starting point. My current character Kara started out as just a viking barbarian that turned into a skald with an honor code looking for a kobold she fell in love with.
My first character was a half-elf rogue named Shadestep. My second was a dwarven monk named Cooler Malcom (Malcom being the DM) who was a darts champion and professional mime
