The bronze bull is a torture device. It's a large bull made out of (wait for it) bronze that was hollow inside.
.
People were locked inside it and a fire was lit underneath. Supposedly it also had chambers or piping within it that would cause screams to sound "like the tenderest, most pathetic, melodious of bellowing." Like a real bull more or less
.
Basically you're cooked alive and your screams are made to sound more... palatable to the audience
I did write golden bull and then I realized that was wrong and pulled a sneaky on ya
.
Lol. Humans have no lack of ingenuity when it comes to making each other suffer. We got entirely new stuff now that wasn't around in the middle ages (or whenver). I'm sure you can think of something
Haha you can post full URLs in edited comments if that helps at all
.
That looks like a fancy combination between a rack, a quartering, and a rowdy Saturday night
oh, i edited it to post the comment, but forgot to include the http bit
I HAVE LEARNT THE POWER, IT IS POSSIBLE!
Also for some reason, whenever someone says torture, I either think of that thundercats torture, or the Tom and Jerry episode "Mouse Trouble"
Heres the wiki article on it:
After reading the chapter 'Slip him a surprise package', Tom attempts to disguise himself in a gift box. Jerry, seeing the box, knocks on it, hearing no response. Inexplicably, Jerry proceeds to impale the box with pins while Tom whimpers and groans in pain before sawing the box in half. Still hearing nothing, Jerry eagerly looks inside the box but just as quickly pulls his head out. Horror-stricken, he gulps and displays a sign reading "IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?".
And you can’t make music by synchronising screams that way either

Cheese?
The wiki article does say “inexplicably”
Anyhow it still turns out to be my 2nd favourite Tom and Jerry episode
